Andrew Delaplane

Andrew Delaplane is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Delaplane was a law clerk to the Honorable Morgan Christen of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and to the Honorable Royce C. Lamberth of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Mr. Delaplane was also a Charles F.C. Ruff Fellow for the Office of the Solicitor General, District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General, where he advised trial attorneys on how to preserve issues for appeal, including in multimillion-dollar cases.  Mr. Delaplane also represented District agencies and public servants as lead counsel of record in cases before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and he successfully argued an appeal before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals that resulted in a published opinion in his client’s favor.  He also co-authored several amicus briefs that were filed in federal courts of appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Delaplane was also Founder/Owner of AJ Tech Solutions, a sole proprietorship supporting small businesses and non-profit organizations with technology planning needs.

Mr. Delaplane earned his J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Georgetown University Law Center where he served as managing editor of the American Criminal Law Review’s Annual Survey of White Collar Crime, and he was the winner of the Robert J. Beaudry Moot Court Competition.  Mr. Delaplane was also a member of Georgetown’s Domestic Violence Clinic, for which he provided supervised representation to survivors of domestic violence, and he was a Georgetown Special Pro Bono Pledge Honoree for completing over one hundred hours of service.

He graduated magna cum laude from Azusa Pacific University with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Psychology.
