Joseph Lee and Adam Lawton Recognized for Aiding Refugee and Immigrant Children
Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) announced on Oct. 26, 2020 that it is honoring outstanding pro bono attorneys in Los Angeles who are providing vital legal services to refugee and immigrant children who come alone to the United States in search of safety.
These attorneys, who serve as the heart of KIND’s mission, are volunteers who go above and beyond to help these children make their case for U.S. protection.
From Munger, Tolles & Olson, KIND honored Joseph D. Lee and Adam R. Lawton as steadfast supporters of KIND and the children the organization serves in Southern California. According to KIND, “Since 2009, they have put their litigation talents towards helping children in need by taking dozens of cases, including complex matters. It has been a privilege to work with Joseph and Adam to champion the rights of unaccompanied children.”
Of the honor, Mr. Lee said: “When I hear what my clients have gone through, the terrible things they have suffered, I know I have to do everything I can to help them. It’s my mission and my duty – they deserve nothing less.”
“Helping some of society’s most vulnerable people navigate our complex immigration system is one of the most important ways we can bring about positive change in their lives,” Mr. Lawton adds.
