Munger, Tolles & Olson Named Tech Industry Litigation Department of the Year Finalist in 2024 California Legal Awards
For the third consecutive year, Munger, Tolles & Olson was recognized by The Recorder as a Tech Industry Litigation Department of the Year finalist of the 2024 California Legal Awards. The awards celebrate the achievements of lawyers and companies leading technology, innovation and the legal profession as a whole. The winner will be announced on October 15 during an awards ceremony held at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles.
Munger, Tolles & Olson’s technology practice was recognized for its representation of clients in matters that had a significant impact within the technology industry and beyond. For the MTO team, a historic appellate victory for Grayscale Investments, LLC led to the approval of the first U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded products (ETPs), a watershed moment for the digital currency industry, and a successful defense of Google and YouTube against a presidential candidate’s injunction motion seeking to reinstate videos questioning the safety of COVID-19 vaccines was an important victory for public health.
Ahead of the October awards ceremony, MTO partners, Carolyn Hoecker Luedtke, Jonathan Blavin and Miriam Kim spoke with The Recorder about the litigation team’s competitive advantage and recent achievements.
In addition to being named a Tech Industry Litigation Department of the Year finalist, partner Miriam Kim was named to the Women Leaders in Tech Law list and partner Rose Ehler was named to the Lawyers on the Fast Track list.
