Jonathan Kravis Quoted in Politico Article Discussing the Corruption Trial of Senator Bob Menendez’s Wife

Munger, Tolles & Olson partner Jonathan Kravis was quoted in a recent Politico article titled “Bob Menendez’s Wife Found Guilty in Corruption Trial,” discussing the legal developments surrounding the corruption case of former Senator Bob Menendez’s wife.

The article discusses the conviction of Nadine Menendez on 15 public corruption charges relating to a bribery scheme involving her husband. Senator Menendez, who was convicted on 16 counts of bribery and other charges in a separate trial, is set to begin an 11-year federal prison sentence in June.

With the Department of Justice dropping corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and the Trump administration pardoning former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and giving clemency to several political advisors, Jonathan opined that the trials of Senator Menendez and his wife might be among the last major corruption cases for a while.

“Maybe this is sort of it, maybe this is sort of the end of big-time federal corruption cases for the next stretch of our history,” he said.

As a former federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, Jonathan has experience in handling high-profile corruption cases and can provide valuable context to the ongoing discussions about the future of federal corruption prosecutions.
